Here's a small rant for you all to understand what I'm trying to accomplish through this type of training and why I believe it to be VASTLY more effective than any other program for health, fitness, and body transformation purposes...
I've been asked about various types of "boot camp" programs out there and in a few cases had those programs picked over the program we offer here... Don't get me wrong I fully support and admire people that put forth the first initial steps to change their health and well being because it's definitely not an easy thing to do, especially if its something you've never done before... However, I think these boot camp programs are only an initial step and are deemed ineffective because of some key reasons... Here are a few that I believe set our program apart...
1. The Set Up
- Think of boot camps as the "cattle yards" of health and fitness... Let's see how many people we can cram into a class... Not the greatest way to maximize individual results...
- I am definitely looking to reach our program out to as many people as I can possibly help, however, I am also aware that after a certain size things can become very hard to manage so that being said my promise to you as a member/athlete is to add on additional class times if we continually get over 10-12 people per class... This is for your benefit and will do nothing but help your progress...
2. The Program
- The level and quality of workout only gets worse as you increase the size of your group... As the size increases the complexity of the movements you can use within that workout become limited because of liability/coaching concerns... What's easier to monitor? Bodyweight Squats or Full Squat Cleans?? This is what limits your progress within these type of programs after the first initial weeks... I would rather have every conceivable exercise and variation of those exercises to use to keep your progress ongoing forever (And don't just limit yourself to weight loss/gain here... I'm talking strength, stamina, flexibility, endurance, power, etc... The weight will come as these others improve)... Furthermore, the length of the workouts becomes pretty streamlined in these formats... Longer duration and higher volume... Reps, reps and more reps... Does this type of workout have a place in training? ABSOLUTELY, but it is only one of MANY types you need to maximize your results...
3. Variety
- Goes without saying from the prior point... If I limit that type of exercises that I'm using to bodyweight only and keep the reps in the hundreds of reps your body will adapt to that demand placed upon it... We NEED weighted and unweighted movements, higher reps and low reps, short distance and long distance, etc. in infinite combinations to continually challenge your fitness. Even better this variety keeps your mind from checking out and you from getting bored with the program because there is always a weakness to work on or a new challenge to conquer!
Just some thoughts on why I love this stuff!! :)
